HSV LSA upgrades: Harrop pulleys, cams and heads

The LSA path we know best

Back in 2015 Sam told Street Machine the workshop had already done "probably over 100" LSA cars, and that the engine makes big power at the wheels without much work. Since then we have refined a clear upgrade path: Harrop boosted pulleys and airbox for more boost, our cam and LS7 lifter or spring packages, a full Hurricane exhaust, and ported heads for the biggest results.

Everything is fitted and tuned in-house on our hub dyno, on 98 or E85, so the figures you see are real at-the-wheels numbers.

Stage by stage: real results

A VF Clubsport with a boosted pulley, our cam package and ceramic-coated headers made 600+ rwhp. Paul's VF GTSR, originally fitted with a Walkinshaw 557 pack, made 610+ rwhp with a few extra goodies. The GTSR known as VENOM made over 640 rwhp with our cam and LS7 lifter package, Harrop boosted pulleys and a full Hurricane exhaust.

A GTSR Maloo and a VF GTS with our cam package, Harrop pulleys and airbox and a full Hurricane exhaust both made 650+ rwhp. Add Higgins CC ported heads and a VF Clubsport made 670+ rwhp. The strongest so far: a VF GTS with our heads and cam package, Harrop boosted pulleys and a full exhaust, making 750 rwhp on E85.
